The Hidden Mental Cost of Building New Work Habits
Four weeks into this writing journey, and I'm learning everything from scratch. Yes, I have my research & writing system in place, but every single step still requires conscious thought. What do I do next? How should I approach this? There's no autopilot mode here - it's all unknown territory.
While building the Studio, I'm also trying to observe my working process - what practices are emerging, what works, and what doesn't. It's like meta level - running an experiment and taking notes at the same time. Building in public at this early stage has become a topic in itself, giving me content to share even before diving deep into my research threads.
It's exciting and stimulating - maybe too stimulating. My brain is in overdrive. For the second night in a row, I've woken up in the middle of the night with thoughts spinning in my head. But maybe that's exactly what learning feels like - your brain rewiring itself to work in new ways.
