Designing a Service Business Based on Human Connection
Today in my studio, I'm designing something quite different - a very human-centered service business. It's about helping people test-drive their dream life in a new place, guiding couples and families through life change in a safe, structured way.
What started as a mentoring project to help reshape someone's professional life evolved into something bigger. I saw an opportunity to propose a business idea that perfectly aligns with their strengths, needs, and aspirations. Now I'm helping shape it using business and service design principles, giving the team key pieces they need to test with clients and learn what works and what doesn't.
What I love about it is how non-digital this is - it's all about human interaction and trust, guiding people through their journey of change, helping them make the right decisions. There are few interesting parts to the whole concept like applying blue ocean strategy to create a new category, and designing a client methodology that blends design thinking with change management approaches.
That's Friday in my studio 💛 😉 (And yes, I can share this - it's VIDA LUZ, a business I'm helping my wife build 😊)
